I am officially and totally tired of politics.
Yep, almost can't believe it myself.

• Maybe it's because this presidential campaign has dragged on FOREVER (aren't we in the millionth year of the 2008 presidential campaign????)
• Maybe it's because local politics is frustrating me--more school referendums are most assuredly coming which means higher taxes.
  
• Maybe I'm discouraged by the bottomless pit of whining by liberals
• Maybe I'm exhausted by ENDLESS circular arguments about gas prices. (DUH--if you commit to drilling it WILL bring the price of gas down---oil prices are determined by SPECULATORS and they bid the price up on the basis of the FUTURE supply. DUH)
  
• Maybe I'm just SICK AND TIRED OF LIBERALS.
• Perhaps I'm just resigned to the probability that Democrats will be in the White House come January. (John McCain surely isn't showing us much as a candidate and people seem to be buying into this Obama crap about hope. I HOPE they get a clue because Obama is just an empty shirt that David Axelrod has created....it's SO OBVIOUS.)
  
• I'm disappointed in the ineptitude of Republican leaders when it comes to REALLY showing what idiots Democrats are
• I'm disappointed the guy I voted for in the last 2 presidential elections (yes, our very own George Bush) has turned out to be completely unable or unwilling to stand up for conservative values. He's just too nice, and nice doesn't get you anywhere.
  
• I'm just not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel....and not happy about that.

I'd guess I'm not the only Republican who's just exhausted. I'd guess there are a lot of us who just don't feel excited about election day this November. But let's look at it this way---we will still:
1. Vote
2. Campaign for our candidates (maybe not wholeheartedly, but we will support them)
3. Continue to be conservatives and Republicans.
4. Look ahead to the NEXT election and hope for the best then.

So liberals, DON'T GET COCKY. We're still here--kind of like the sleeping giant. Soon enough we're going to rise up and bite you on the ass and take back our country. You'll see....and it won't be pretty.

Well, if you're the governor of Illinois you can do that with taxpayer dollars. Read this Sun-Times story about how our very own Gov. Blago (aka Rod Blo) made sure his kids' Montessori school got a huge hunk of money to fix their buildings and improve their facilities.

"His administration assisted the school's leaders in building a new, state-of-the-art facility, with 17 classrooms, a high-school-sized gymnasium and foliage-covered roof. The building, which opened in January 2006, is a major upgrade over space the school had been leasing from two churches.

The school bought its 2.4-acre site and constructed its new home using a 30-year, $11.75 million borrowing plan it secured through Blagojevich's Illinois Finance Authority. Private investors -- not Illinois taxpayers -- would be on the hook should the school default on that deal, which won approval when the Finance Authority was headed by a man who has since pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges."

And of course both Rod and wife Patti claim there is nothing sneaky going on.

Dems fear photo-ID voting law fallout

Ya, they fear the voter ID requirement because SO MANY DEAD PEOPLE VOTE DEMOCRATIC.

It's simple--require an ID and REAL PEOPLE vote--not dead people. Maybe people won't be able to go from poll to poll to poll and vote as many times as their political bosses tell them to--or pay them to vote.

Here is the typical bullsh*t Democrat response to making sure a voter is a VALID VOTER--in other words, there isn't fraud:
“The voting process needs to as unencumbered as possible, and requiring a photo identification disenfranchises those citizens who might otherwise never have a need for identification--particularly in rural, poor, and minority communities,” said Rep. Joe Baca (D-Calif.), chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. “This is a violation of our voting rights – and a deliberate attack on democracy.” (CRAP--this is total CRAP)

Reality check here: everyone needs an ID in today's world. You can't go anywhere without an ID. If you can't afford one you get one for free (ala Georgia). You can't cash a check, rent a video, drive, register for school, or do just about anything without an ID. Don't you see the lies the Democrats will tell to make it seem like some poor schmuck won't be able to vote because the evil REPUBLICANS make him actually prove he is who he says he is? But of course how could we expect anything else from Democrats?????

Top court upholds photo ID voting law

Wow, what a concept. You have to show an ID to vote. Don't you wish we had that law in Illinois? Well, today there was an announcement that the Indiana law that requires a valid ID to vote was UPHELD.

There's hope for Mayor Daley

UNBELIEVABLE !!!! After today's "summit" on violence in Chicago, Mayor Daley actually put the blame/responsibility where it should be--squarely on the shoulders of the parents/adults who produce the individuals who are committing all the crimes in Chicago. "A passionate Mayor Richard Daley urged parents and other citizens Friday to take on a greater role in combating violence after a closed-door meeting with police, community and religious leaders.

"Government must do its part, but as most people appreciate, it can't protect every child or every person every hour of the day—I wish we could," Daley said. "Every parent must also do their part. I know it's not always an easy job, but we all know that a responsible adult can make a critical difference in a child's life.""

It's about time they started putting the responsibility where it should ALWAYS have been.

So now it's the weekend. Let's see if all these words have any effect. I'd bet the cooler weather and rain will dampen the crime rate...oh ya, and the increased police presence.

It's not the guns....

It's about a lack of morality that has permeated our country.

It's been said before: Guns don't kill people. PEOPLE kill people.

As much as I think Daley has done good things for the City of Chicago (probably with a great deal of corruption) I just don't think he really wants to be honest about what is causing the deaths in the streets of the city. Most of the murders are in the black communities. It's mostly black people killing black people---and it seems like there is a gang war going on in the city right now.

So Daley has called for a summit in Chicago to discuss the problem, but of course he'll blame guns so he doesn't alienate much of his constituency.

Mayor Daley--be honest with the people of the city. It's not some corrupting OUTSIDE influence coming in to destroy your citizens--they're killing themselves. They use violence to solve their problems which creates more problems. Stop skirting the issue and tell them the truth. The mothers of the kids who are killed need to know you will do something--not just blame an inanimate object AGAIN.

• Tell them to keep their kids at home at night.
• Tell them to hold the men who get them pregnant responsible.
• Tell men to stop making more babies without being married.
• Tell Father Pfleger to actually teach his parishioners what the Catholic Church says--get married, be honorable, don't sin.
• Stop blaming everyone else and support the police and the prosecutors.
• Tell the truth about drugs in the city.

So Daley, have another summit.
It's not going to do any good if you just don't stop this anti-gun rant and tell the truth about how morality has vanished from the offenders.

Not the White House but the Big House May Await Blago

Illinois Republican Party: No Outside Views Allowed

Could someone please explain to me why the Illinois Republican Party staff is making phone calls to county chairmen telling them not to allow people to speak who (gasp) may have ideas other than genuflecting to current leaders?

This morning WLS radio commentator and long-time Republican activist Dan Proft spoke to our monthly Republican meeting. But not before our county chairman recieved a call from the state party headquarters warning him that he should not allow Proft to speak. Why? Well, Proft "bashes" the Republican party. Huh?

Now I have heard Proft speak before and again today. He comes with a long pedigree of managing campaigns, writing and commenting on issues. He correctly speaks to the question of how we rebuild as a party. You don't correct your mistakes unless you are willing to ask where you went wrong and how you get back. That is NOT a negative message. It is engaging in dialog about where the party is and how we rebuild. In fact, Proft said nothing negative about the party or party leadership. He did make some very good points and I recomend him as a speaker to local GOP organizations.

There will be no rebuilding by people who are determined that NO ONE may dare speak except current leaders. Party leaders who have a staff sycophant calling to surpress any ideas shows only the weakness of those leaders. So long as the Illinois Republican Party has a sign hanging out, "No Ideas Allowed," there will be no success.

Despite this, you divided your property and had them take off $300K before the mortgage problems started. Then Rezko’s wife buys the lot beside it that you can’t afford, saving you $625,000.

54.) My Donations Have Been Checked Thoroughly - LIAR, you only gave back Hsu ($72K) and Rezko (first $66K, then when caught lying $86K, then when caught lying again $150K and now caught lying YET AGAIN OBAMA, it’s $250k) their money when publically called on their involvement in your campaigns.

55.) My Church Is Like Any Other Christian Church - LIAR, your church is so extreme, the pastor who married you, Rev. Wright, just got done blaming the US for 9/11 and named Louis Farrahkan their person of the year.

I Disagree With My Church All The Time - LIAR, you still have yet to repudiate Wright, who married you and your wife, and you still donate large sums of money to assist the church in furthering its message - hatred and revenge. Seems Mr. Auchi may have helped Obama buy his million dollar property long before Obama had millions of dollars. Wonder what favors Mr. Auchi expects, when Obama leaves Iraq free to be taken over by special interests such as him.

But he does accept money from executives and other employees of oil companies and two of his fundraisers are oil company executives. Clinton had received nearly $307,000 from industry workers and their families and Republican Sen. The real history of the GOP when it comes to civil rights

Received this interesting information this morning from Michael Zak in the form of a newsletter.

On this day in 1866, the Republican-majority 39th Congress overrode a veto by the Democrat president, Andrew Johnson, to enact the 1866 Civil Rights Act. Every Democrat in Congress voted against it.

The purpose of the 1866 Civil Rights Act was to defend African-Americans from their Democrat oppressors in the post-Civil War South. There, Democrats had enacted black codes to impose near-slavery on African-Americans who had just been emancipated by the Republican Party's 13th Amendment.

Senator Lyman Trumbull (R-IL) wrote the 1866 Civil Rights Act, which conferred U.S. citizenship on former slaves and other African- Americans. The law guaranteed African-Americans "full and equal benefit of all laws and proceedings for the security of person and property, as is enjoyed by white citizens." Republicans thereby granted African-Americans the right to own property, engage in business, sign contracts and file lawsuits.

This was the first time Congress overrode a veto of a significant bill. Also, the 1866 Civil Rights Act contradicted the notorious Dred Scott decision, in which the seven Democrat Justices on the Supreme Court decreed that black people did not have constitutional rights. To prevent Democrats from someday repealing the Act, Republicans later enshrined its provisions as Article I of the 14th Amendment.

Sadly, Democrats defied the 1866 Civil Rights Act and other Republican reforms. Democrat oppression of African-Americans would not be overcome until the 1960's civil rights movement.

Republicans today would benefit tremendously from appreciating the heritage of our Grand Old Party.

I had to get my 8 year old (just running fine, thank you) vehicle tested last month or face the wrath of the Secretary of State. It's not exactly convenient, but now (thank you Governor Dunder-Head) you have to travel even farther than the Elgin test site that I used.

As of May 1st they're closing a number of sites, have canceled the contract with the firm that was doing it quite well (thereby tossing 237 workers out of work) and giving the contract to another firm that will only have a few sites in this area. The closest one will be Lombard, Naperville, or Crystal Lake.

GREAT--gas is almost $3.50 a gallon and now we have to drive EVEN FARTHER (wasting more gas) to get the emissions checked in this bogus program. Yep, another Blago dumbass idea.

Who voted for this guy? Aren't you ashamed of yourself if you did??????

"In an interview in conjunction with his big economic speech in New York, Senator Obama tells CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo he favors increasing the capital-gains tax rate.

Bartiromo reported after her interview: “Right now, as you know, the cap gains tax is at 15 percent. He has yet to give us a specific number. How high he wants that number to go? He has said, and he told me today, that he won't go above 28 percent. So we are talking about the possibility of a doubling in the capital gains tax. He was averaging at about 25 percent.”

Just what we need--more taxes. Just like a Democrat---take more money away from hard working people and give it to people who aren't.

Why no updates?

• We all know that if your pastor or priest spewed racist or anti-government rhetoric you'd walk out and find a new church/synagogue.
• Spring just can't quite get here.

James Carville is on the rampage again. When Bill Richardson (former Clinton hack) endorsed Obama, Carville was none too happy and compared him to Judas.

"Carville made the comparison to The New York Times after Richardson, once a member of President Clinton's Cabinet, endorsed Hillary Clinton rival Barack Obama last week for the Democratic presidential nomination. Carville called it an "act of betrayal," and pointed out that it came during Holy Week.

"Mr. Richardson's endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out (Jesus) for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic," he said.

And Richardson's response:

"Richardson told "Fox News Sunday" that he wouldn't respond by getting "in the gutter like that."

"That's typical of many of the people around Senator Clinton," Richardson said. "They think they have a sense of entitlement to the presidency."

Richardson finally verbalized what many Republicans have been saying for years. The Clintons (aptly assisted by Mr. Carville) have been utilizing "gutter politics" for years. They are the masters of ripping opponents apart, spreading innuendos and accusing everyone of unfairness when they are the first and best at unfairness. And yes, we all have known for a long time that Hillary has displayed an obtrusive and disgusting aura of "entitlement to the presidency." YUK.

Funny how the Democrats are going at each other. Let's just enjoy this while we can.

"Today, Republicans celebrate -- or should celebrate -- the 154th anniversary of our Grand Old Party.

At the time, the Democrats in control of Congress were moving toward passage of their Kansas- Nebraska Act, allowing slavery to expand into the western territories. The Democrat President said he would sign the bill into law.

Amid the intense reaction, a grassroots movement arose to oppose the pro-slavery policies of the Democratic Party. In just a few months, these town meetings and demonstrations coalesced into the Republican Party.

Several sites share the credit as its birthplace, but the GOP was named in Ripon, Wisconsin. At a March 20, 1854 meeting convened by anti-slavery activist Alvan Bovay, fifty-five men and three women called for all opponents of slavery to unite in a new organization, to be called "the Republican Party." This name had a past as well as a future. Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and many other Founding Fathers had called themselves "Republicans."

The Ripon meeting was widely reported in the newspapers. Just two months later, Members of Congress who opposed slavery declared themselves to be Republicans. In July, the Republican Party held its first state convention, in Jackson, Michigan.

Within two years, the GOP became a major national party, controlling the U.S. House of Representatives, and in 1860 Abraham Lincoln was elected the first Republican President of the United States.

Republicans today would benefit tremendously from appreciating the heritage of our Grand Old Party."
